Jebel Ali Dragons renew website
The Dragons are a fabulous rugby club that get it just right. They are a wonderful social club … but no so social that they’re unfit to play! And they are a professional club, but without the pre tense … they’re just ‘The Dragons’. When I first met them they were the Dubai Dragons and I was introduced to them by Laurence, a great friend of RuckinRugby.
So we did a couple of seasons with the old RuckinRugby site and then switched the Dragons to WordPress but it was clunky, they were pioneers and it was early days … but they deserved better. They have just ended their season with a remarkable double over semi-professional Harlequins from neighbouring Abu Dhabi; beating them in both the UAE Premiership Grand Final crowning them Kings of the UAE … and then the ARFUWA Club Final – securing their position as the Kings of the Arabian Gulf.
The logo changed slightly when the club became sponsored by Jebel Ali International Hotels – becoming the Jebel Ali Dragons, but nothing drastic. We have eased off on the red and done more tonal work with blues, creating a grungey background overlaid very subtly with the dragon logo. I’m really pleased with it. We have also added in the season’s achievements to the banner along with the social media icons, linking through to their new twitter account and hugely popular Facebook Fan page.
This was maybe the third RuckinRugby club to switch to the new 2013 template but so far, it’s may favourite.
